Freedom from shame
Having grown up in the church, I understand that it can be scary to admit when we've done something wrong. Sin is often associated with shame, which comes from the belief that our flaws make us unlovable. We believe that we are "not good enough," "a bad Christian" or "a lost cause." Shame tells us to hide our true selves, disconnecting us from God, others and ourselves.
The antidote to shame is grace (isn't this what the Gospel is all about?!). Grace is unearned, unconditional love and acceptance. Only by allowing yourself to be fully seen, can you can be fully loved.
In counseling, you can feel safe to talk openly about your struggles without fear of judgment or condemnation. You can trust that your darkest secrets and deepest shame will be met with compassion, comfort and care.
Shame is a lonely prison. Counseling can help you break free!

Identity and purpose exploration
Do you feel like your life lacks meaning? Are you just going through the motions? Have you lost direction and passion? Maybe you're wondering if you were created for more…
Counseling can help you discover the life you were created to live.
We are all searching for 2 things: identity and purpose. Counseling provides a safe environment for you to explore and understand who God created you to be and what He created you to do. My mission is to help you discover your unique gifts and life calling so that you can experience the fullness of God's purpose and plan for your life.
God created you on purpose, with purpose.
When we live confidently in our callings, we find peace, joy and fulfillment.

Healing from spiritual abuse / religious trauma
Are you a survivor of spiritual abuse? Have you been hurt by a church/spiritual leader? Have you been silenced or manipulated by religious authority? Do you wonder if you'll ever be able to trust again?
Unfortunately, there are many people who have experienced abuse within the church. Abuse occurs when there is an imbalance of power and control (usually between leadership and congregation). Without accountability and careful distribution of power, church leaders can cause harm to their followers leaving them wounded, lost and resentful. Religious trauma is particularly painful as it damages a person's spiritual identity and challenges their faith.
But what's hurt in relationship can be healed in relationship. Counseling can help survivors of abuse heal from past trauma, restore their faith and move forward in freedom. When you share your story with me, your pain will be met with compassion and care.
Where courageous vulnerability meets truth and grace, there is freedom, hope and peace. Your story isn't over, it's just beginning!

Ministry care
Are you feeling burnt out from leading and serving in ministry? Do you feel like you're constantly giving care, but never receiving it? Has your ministry affected your spouse/kids? Have you thought about quitting because it's just too much?
Leadership can be lonely. As a pastor or leader, you may feel pressure to be perfect and have it all together. When things are hard in your personal life, you may feel like there's no one you can turn to for support and care. You feel like you know everything about everyone, but no one really knows you.
You deserve the care you give to others. Many pastors, ministry leaders and their families struggle to meet their own needs because they are so busy caring for others. Pastors’ kids often feel neglected and pressured to perform, which can lead to low self-esteem and rebellious behavior. Having personally struggled with burn-out and mental health issues as a ministry leader, I understand the importance of having a trusted person to talk to about the unique burdens of ministry.
Your ministry can only be as healthy as you are. Your emotional health is essential to your spiritual health. Whether you're feeling burnt-out, depressed, anxious, overwhelmed or just need someone to talk to, I'm here to listen and help you rediscover the joy and purpose of ministry.
